Position Description

As the Importer of Record, Lumber yard, and Architectural Millwork House we have total quality control throughout the entire supply chain from the forest anywhere in the world all the way to your job site. With centuries of experience, we are a powerful supplier of both domestic and imported, exotic hardwood lumber such as Teak, Sapele, Genuine Mahogany, Black Walnut, and Ipe. J. Gibson McIlvain is more than just materials and with our comprehensive architectural millwork facility, we offer custom millwork services from interior trim and cabinetry to exterior siding, pergolas, and furniture.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consistent and accurate grading of kiln dried hardwood lumber to meet NHLA rules and regulations.
  • Grade at production speed, while maintaining grading accuracy.
  • Work safely and help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Read and understand production schedules.
  • Work closely with operations to maintain lumber quality.
Skills & Experience Required

Job Requirements:
• NHLA certification desired. If not NHLA certified, having a willingness to obtain certification.
• Possess ability to accurately apply NHLA rules.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience grading green and/or kiln dried hardwood lumber
• Proficient with basic math/measuring skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, walking, stairs, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, kneeling, squatting and balancing, exposure to loud noises and dust.
• Reliable transportation to White Marsh, MD.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
• Ability to work outdoors, year-round regardless of weather elements
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening (including marijuana)

Salary & Benefits

Salary – Negotiable based on experience
