NHLA National Inspector Marty Westeen

Marty Westeen

Marty has been working in the lumber industry for over 28 years. He grew up working alongside his father, a logger for 36 years, in Michigan. After moving to Wisconsin to pursue a degree in forestry, Marty began working for Ralph Hamel Forest Products, where he operated ripsaws, chop saws, forklifts, and planers.

Marty later joined the Granite Valley Forest Products team, where he attended the NHLA Inspector Training School and graduated with the 147th Class in 2004. He spent 19 years with Granite Valley Forest Products as a Lumber Inspector and Quality Control Specialist.

Marty then moved to Missouri, where he worked for Missouri Walnut as a Lumber Inspector and trained new inspectors. He later relocated to Tennessee to work for Cardin Forest Products, grading and selling lumber. With nearly three decades of experience in the lumber industry, Marty is excited to continue his career as an NHLA National Inspector.
