Industrial Mechanic

Position Description

1st and 2nd Shift Positions Available
Schedule:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday. Saturdays as needed.
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 2:30 PM Monday – Friday. Saturdays as needed.

Thompson Appalachian Hardwoods is a leading producer of high-quality hardwood products. Our sawmill in Huntland, TN, is known for its commitment to excellence and safety. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Industrial Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment, helping us deliver top-notch products to our clients.

Position Overview:
As an Industrial Mechanic at Thompson Appalachian Hardwoods, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of sawmill machinery and equipment. Your expertise will help ensure that our operations run smoothly and efficiently while minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

– Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on sawmill machinery and equipment.
– Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement timely solutions.
– Assist in the installation and alignment of new equipment and machinery.
– Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
– Work closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize operational disruptions.
– Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records.

Skills & Experience Required

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years of technical training or 3+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or sawmill environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in an industrial setting.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions.
