As the Federation’s largest contributor, NHLA donates 10% of membership dues annually. Over the last 5 years, NHLA and its members have contributed more than $920,000 to support the work of the Hardwood Federation.
NHLA provides relevant and timely information to our membership. We publish a monthly members-only magazine – Hardwood Matters and a bi-monthly E-newsletter – Hardwire. Additionally, NHLA has a robust website and a strong social media following on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
The NHLA Member Directory lists all members in an interactive list that works on a desktop, tablet, or mobile phone. Attributes of the Member Directory include web and email links, one-click calling, and all information is updated monthly.
NHLA also provides exclusive advertising and marketing opportunities to Members Only.
The NHLA hardwood lumber grading Rules are the foundation of the uniform system of trade for hardwood lumber and give North American hardwoods a competitive advantage. To stay timely and relevant the NHLA Rules are evaluated every four years. Only NHLA Active Category Members are allowed to vote on Rules Changes. The rules change process is an integral part of being a member.
COLLABORATION BENEFITS ALL
A strong hardwood industry is a benefit to everyone, and NHLA believes collaboration is a key force in promoting and addressing some of the most pressing issues facing the hardwood industry. Whether lobbying for better forest management with the Hardwood Federation, creating new promotional opportunities by donating to the first domestic Hardwood CLT project or advancing the sustainability of hardwoods with our partners at the American Hardwood Export Council, cooperation strengthens the status of the North American hardwood industry worldwide.
For more than 120 years, NHLA has been serving the hardwood industry. We help our members achieve profitability and solve their top business challenges with data-driven expert advice and hands-on training. PROVE YOUR BUSINESS IS SUSTAINABLE
The National Hardwood Lumber Association offers members a Sustainability Verification Certificate (SVC) to help you answer questions regarding the sustainability of North American hardwoods.
Produced in collaboration with the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), this certificate is designed to be given to your customers as documentation of North American hardwood sustainability. It shows that NHLA and its members are committed to the sustainability, education, and advocacy of North American Hardwoods.
The sustainability of North American hardwoods has been documented and supported by several scientific and academic reports and independent and government agencies.
The SVC is reissued via email and traditional mail to NHLA members in good standing once a year.
If you are a member in need of an SVC please contact the membership department at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 901-377-1818.
