1st Annual ITSEF Golf Tournament

The Inspector Training School Educational Foundation will host its 2023 Golf Classic in conjunction with the NHLA Convention at Champions Pointe Golf Club, a Fuzzy Zoeller Championship Golf Course. Please take part in aiding in the mission of the Inspector Training School Educational Foundation, which is to support the continued development and growth of the Inspector Training School and its graduates, “Building Future Leaders of the Hardwood Industry.”
You can register for this event when you register for the NHLA Convention.
Early Bird Player registration is $250 per person.
Regular Player registration is $275 per person.

Tuesday, October 3
- 6-8 pm – ITSEF Golf Welcome Reception: An exclusive reception for registered golfers will be held on Tuesday evening at the Omni Hotel. Meet up with your team and the other participants, grab your swag bag and a beer, but turn in early for that 8 am start the next day!
Wednesday, October 4, 8 am shotgun start
- 6:30-7:00 am – Receive your “ready to travel” breakfast and coffee to-go at the Omni Hotel
- 7:15 am – Buses depart for Champions Pointe Golf Club
*Box Lunch Served at the Course
*Bus transportation is included
Thursday, October 4
- 8 am – Golf Tournament Awards are announced at the NHLA Opening Session

Make more of your 2023 NHLA Annual Convention experience and register for pre-convention education!
The Sawmill Symposium will give participants an opportunity to increase their skill sets by delving deep into best practices for operational efficiency. The class will be taught by Benji Richards, NHLA Industry Services Sales Manager and National Inspector.
The Sawmill Symposium requires a separate $30 registration fee and is only available to people registered to attend the full convention.

Bourbon, Bluegrass, & Banter Reception

Join us for a fun evening of tasting Kentucky’s finest bourbons with a musical performance by the Bourbon Revival Band. Highly skilled bourbon hosts from Richie Michaels Whisky Tasting Experiences will narrate six different bourbon stations extending their knowledge and passion for bourbon to you. Light snacks and an open bar will be provided.

Richie Michaels began his whiskey journey in 2008 with the Crown Royal distillery, working on nationwide marketing campaigns before becoming an Ambassador and Corporate Educator for Beam Suntory, representing Jim Beam and their many other distilleries around the world.
After 5 years in this role, he made his services more widely available by starting his own spirits education and consulting company, Whiskey Tasting Experiences.
Richie now travels the country (and sometimes the world) hosting Whiskey Tasting Experiences and has had the chance to host tastings for CEOs of major global corporations as well as the NFL, the NBA, and pop stars. He has also been featured on NBC, CBS, and ESPN.
He was a three-time nominee for “American Whiskey Ambassador of the Year” at Whisky Magazine’s World Whisky Awards in 2020, 2021, and 2022, when he was the recipient of their “Highly Commended” award.

Closing Party at the Kentucky Derby Museum

Kentucky Derby Museum
It’s the next best thing to actually being at the Derby…a private buyout of the Kentucky Derby Museum! Join us for a night of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Museum, followed by a seated dinner in the Oak Terrace and live music performed by the Bourbon Revival Band in the Great Hall.
