The National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) is excited to announce its new membership with the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)! This partnership marks an important step in our mission to connect the hardwood industry with the design community, expanding awareness and adoption of Real American Hardwood® in interior design.

Expanding NHLA’s Reach and Credibility

This exciting membership was made possible through the efforts of Brooke Pajkurich, NHLA’s Hardwood Technical Design Director. Her efforts in fostering relationships within the design community contributed to NHLA’s decision to join ASID.

For over a century, NHLA has been a trusted leader in the hardwood industry, providing expertise in grading, quality control, and advocacy. By joining ASID, NHLA is expanding its reach to a key audience—interior designers and architects—who influence material choices in residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces. Being a part of ASID not only expands NHLA’s influence but also enhances our credibility within the A&D community. By aligning with a respected organization like ASID, we reinforce our commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation in design. This membership allows us to:

  • Educate designers on the sustainability, durability, and aesthetic appeal of hardwood.
  • Advocate for the increased use of real hardwood in design projects.
  • Provide resources that help designers make informed decisions about wood selection and sourcing.
  • Strengthen industry connections between hardwood suppliers and design professionals.

The Sustainability Advantage

One of NHLA’s core missions is to promote the environmental benefits of hardwood. Unlike synthetic alternatives, real hardwood is a renewable, carbon-storing material that enhances indoor air quality and longevity in design projects. Through our ASID membership, we can provide designers and specifiers with essential knowledge about the sustainability, durability, and timeless appeal of real hardwood in modern design.

What’s Next?

NHLA will actively engage with ASID members through industry events, educational initiatives, and content collaborations. This new membership is just one of the many ways NHLA is working to bridge the gap between the hardwood and design communities.

We look forward to sharing more updates as this partnership grows. Stay tuned for upcoming events, design insights, and expert perspectives on how hardwood enhances interior spaces!
