Lumber Inspection Services

NHLA employs a full-time staff of highly trained hardwood lumber inspectors in the U.S. and Canada. These inspectors work exclusively for NHLA to help evaluate, educate and train employees in inspection rules to improve their grading competency. National inspectors may also inspect lumber prior to shipment to protect the shipper against complaints, or inspect lumber at its destination to monitor incoming quality for a buyer. They also serve as impartial experts to settle disputes between buyer and seller.

Heat Treatment Services

NHLA is a licensed provider of heat treatment services for wood packaging material which is necessary for the exportation of products to many countries. Accredited by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) the NHLA Heat Treatment Program offers unique benefits and advantages to members and nonmembers that are involved in manufacturing wood packaging material.
