Basics of drying hardwood lumber
This three day course is an intensive, basic, hands-on class for the novice or untrained kiln operator. Topics included are accurate MC measurement, correct sample board preparation and proper drying schedules and their modification. Quality, degrade-free drying is emphasized throughout with special attention given to oak and white wood drying. Written classroom exercises, evening homework assignments, and lab sessions utilizing a kiln are used to provide correct, reliable illustrations of drying procedures.
