APHIS Expands Quarantine Area For The Emerald Ash Borer

The United States Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has added the entire state of Connecticut and Massachusetts and expanded the quarantine area in the state of Wisconsin for the Emerald Ash Borer. On February 9, APHIS added eight counties (Adams, Buffalo, Calumet, Juneau, Kewaunee, Manitowac, Oneida and Outagamie) and the Oneida Indian Reservation in Wisconsin to the EAB Regulated Area. Wisconsin's Wood Product Sales Growing Overseas

Invasive Snails!

Vacuum-steam treatment for invasive snails proves promising BLACKSBURG, Va., Jan. 7, 2015 – The U.S. East Coast and some port areas such as Houston, Texas, are being invaded by snails that hitchhike in containers shipped from the Mediterranean. The snails have been found on black walnut, black cherry, hickory, yellow-poplar, and red oaks.
