Walnut - 1 Common pith restriction

Question: Is there a limitation to the amount of pith your allowed in 1 common walnut? Answer: The grade of 1 Common walnut does have a pith restriction it is the same as the Standard grade of 1 Common and it cannot exceed ½ the length of the piece.  When you are looking at the different species in the rules book, make sure to look for the word or words “Standard” and “Except” that may be listed after the different grades listed.
